WHAT WE DO
Our 10–12 week culinary programs at Los Guilicos Juvenile Hall give youth ServSafe certifications, hands-on skills, and mentorship from local chefs and partners like Sonoma Family Meal.
Offered 2–4 times per year, the program builds pathways to reentry training, supportive mentorship, and paid internships.
The garden gives youth the opportunity to grow and harvest organic produce right inside the facility, then cook with seasonal ingredients they’ve nurtured from seed to table. Rooted in principles of regenerative farming, food justice, and sustainability, the program builds food literacy, environmental awareness, and leadership skills.
As the garden flourishes, we envision expanding into youth-led opportunities to sell fresh produce to the community.
Through art, music, writing, and public projects, youth gain outlets to process trauma, reclaim identity, and share their truth.
From murals and music to culinary showcases and pop-up events, these projects foster healing and visibility — giving youth the chance to create something lasting for themselves and their community.
Connecting youth with trusted mentors who bring lived experience and steady support. Relationships begin inside juvenile hall and continue after release
In partnership with From Ashes We Rise, healing circles provide trauma-informed spaces for reflection, accountability, and trust. This wraparound model ensures continuity from custody to community.
This is where healing begins: in shared stories, steady relationships, and the power of being truly seen.
